AP® Courses FAQ

What are advanced placement courses?

AP® courses are college-level courses offered in high school that help students demonstrate academic rigor on their college applications. By taking AP exams, students may also earn college credit, allowing them to save time and money in college.

The difficulty of an A®P course depends on the student’s strengths and interests. However, AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C, AP Chemistry, and AP U.S. History are often considered the most challenging due to their depth and workload.

Choose AP® courses based on your strengths, interests, and college goals. If you enjoy math, consider AP Calculus or AP Statistics. If you’re interested in technology, AP Computer Science might be a great fit. Zinkerz helps students build a balanced AP course selection that highlights their skills and aligns with college expectations.

If you are taking an AP® exam at school, then you are getting credit for the AP® course. And depending on the school, the exam may or may not be factored into the GPA itself.
