Zinkerz offers coding and chess classes that integrate STEAM principles. Our coding classes combine technology and engineering with creative problem-solving, while our chess program develops strategic thinking, pattern recognition, and mathematical reasoning. Both programs emphasize the analytical and creative thinking skills that are central to STEAM education.
At Zinkerz, our classes meet 1-2 times per week over 8 or 12 weeks, depending on the specific course. This frequency is designed to provide consistent skill-building while allowing time for practice and reflection between sessions.
Whether we choose coding or chess for your child, this frequency provides the right balance of instruction, practice, and skill development to make real progress while keeping learning enjoyable and engaging.
STEAM education adds “Arts” to STEM, creating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. This approach recognizes that creativity, design thinking, and artistic expression are essential components of innovation and problem-solving. STEAM emphasizes that the arts and sciences work together in real-world applications.
The key difference is the inclusion of the Arts in STEAM:
STEM focuses on technical and analytical skills through science, technology, engineering, and math.
STEAM adds creative and design elements by incorporating the arts.
